Police are beefing up patrols going into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Law enforcement officers will be out in full force this holiday weekend, on the lookout for drunk drivers, people speeding, and those not wearing their seatbelts.

The crackdown begins Wednesday at 6 p.m. and is in effect until midnight Sunday.

State police say 11 people were killed in accidents on Michigan roads last year during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
