Police Don't Think Driver Had Been Drinking

Jackson police tell wilx.com there is no indication the driver in the accident that killed a four-year-old boy in Jackson Friday night had been drinking. The accident happened at the intersection of Michigan and Cooper around 6:30pm. Police say four kids and one adult were crossing the intersection when Travis and Savannah Rupert ran in front of a truck and were hit. Travis died at the scene. Savannah was taken to Allegiance Hospital and later flown to the University of Michigan Hospital where she's listed in critical condition. The investigation is not finished yet.
