Wayne County sheriff's deputies have arrested a 6-foot-5, 270-pound rapist and attempted murderer in the same hospital where he escaped from custody 30 hours earlier.
The sheriff's department says 45-year-old Willie Wright was at Harper Hospital for treatment Tuesday when he broke free of deputies guarding him despite their use of pepper spray.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Paula Bridges says a hospital staffer spotted Wright on Wednesday and stalled him until guards and deputies could capture him.
Bridges says the arrest went without incident.
Wright is awaiting sentencing for kidnapping and raping his ex-girlfriend, then shooting her in the head as she tried to flee.

Hats off to the Hospital staffer who identified this scumbag, and for their alert and fast thinking. this person should be entitled to the reward of 2500.00 that they were offering.

Why not use a taser on this scumbag and how in the world did the police lose sight of this guy after they pepper sprayed him? How come they didn't chase him down when he broke free?
