FLINT, Mich. (AP) -- Police say a 13-year-old boy was hit by a car during an illegal drag race in Flint after his father brought him to watch the event.
WEYI-TV and The Flint Journal report the crash happened early Saturday. Police say the boy from nearby Burton last was listed in serious condition at a hospital after undergoing leg surgery.
The vehicle that hit him left the scene of the street race. It was described as a 1990s silver or gray Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand Am.
Police were seeking tips in the case.
