LANSING -- A 26-year-old man has been charged with a misdemeanor after Lansing police discover the makings of an explosive device in his car.
Officials found what appeared to be a pipe bomb during a traffic stop early Saturday morning at Cedar and I-496.
A Michigan State Police bomb unit then determined the device had no explosive material in it, meaning the suspect could only be charged with a misdemeanor. He has been released on bond.
News 10 spoke with a Lansing officer who said federal agents could get involved in the case.
