RAVENNA, Mich. (AP) -- Police in western Michigan say two women tried to hire a hit man to kill the husband of one of the women.
State police say they were notified Tuesday by the 51-year-old Ravenna man that he learned from a family member about plans by his wife and sister-in-law.
An undercover officer contacted the women and met with them Wednesday at a shopping center parking lot in Norton Shores, near Muskegon. Police say the women agreed with the undercover officer to a manner of death and payment for a murder contract.
Police say they arrested the 50- and 45-year-old women, who both are from Ravenna, for solicitation to commit murder. They're being held at the Muskegon County jail, pending arraignment. Radio station WGHN reports the investigation continues.
Names weren't immediately released.
