LANSING -- A pit bull has been found dead after being put in a cage and abandoned at a Lansing park.

The dog was discovered Friday frozen to death at Ingam Park near Dwight Rich Middle School.

She was young, a brown and white pit bull, wearing a blue leather collar with silver studs.

The Ingham County Animal Cruelty Fund is offering a $300 reward for information leading to the person or persons responsible for the act.

If you have any information, call Ingham County Animal Control at 517- 676- 8376.

Another pit bull found outside earlier this week is recovering.

While I am not a fan of Pit Bulls, no animal deserves treatment like this. The punishment for these people should be the exact same as they inflicted upon the animal. Stories like this, and the one last week make me sick. It's things like this happening that really makes me think our society really is doomed.

The person that killed that Pitbull could have taken it to any police, fire station, or animal shelter. I know the liberals wouldnt let me but if I found out who killed it I would put them in a cage and leave them in the same spot over night. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Poor animal.

It is so important that these people are found because whoever did this won't stop at innocent animals. They are sick individuals who are excited by causing suffering. Psychopaths...

What is going on with people!!! This is so sad. They meant her to die, if they just wanted to get rid of her, they could have dropped her off and maybe she could have found warmth, instead they cage her up - leaving her collar on, and put her to death.

This makes me cry. Why do people do this? Why couldn't they take the dog to a shelter or rescue group? Death from freezing is a very painful way for the poor dog to die because someone didn't want her anymore.
