BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) -- A couple's months-long effort to hold their wedding at Bay City's James Clements Airport has ended with an exchange of vows at the spot where the groom once learned to fly.
Twenty-nine-year-old Karen Engle and 30-year-old Kevin Holcomb decided they wanted to hold the ceremony at the airport and discovered that getting the needed approvals was long and challenging.
The final hurdle came when the Bay City Commission gave its OK on Monday.
MLive.com reports that the Rev. Dan Youmans of Lighthouse Body of Christ church in Sanford officiated at Saturday's ceremony.
Holcomb now works as a freight pilot. He says James Clements has always been his favorite place to land and take off.
