About 75,000 spartan fans celebrated the start of another football season: "It's a beautiful day! There's nowhere else I'd rather be than here on the beautiful Michigan State Campus," said long-time fan Greg Hunt.
The fans have already set a big goal for their Spartans; making it to the Rose Bowl for the first time in may of their lifetimes.
Former MSU Center Chris Piwowarczyk (1987-91) believes this will be the year. He was apart of the last team to go to the Rose Bowl 25 years ago: "Back when I played, the Rose Bowl was it. It was the grand-daddy of bowl games."
Especially since last year's team just missed their opportunity, he says this year's team has the drive to go all the way.
"This team right now has the right chemistry to do it. We have the right chemistry to do it. We have the right combination of good coaching, young guys, hungry guys, who know what it takes to win."
He'll do his part getting them there; cheering them on at every game, home and away, along with thousands others.
