An Okemos teenager could be headed to prison for the rest of his life.

Conner McCowan will be sentenced Wednesday. He was convicted of second-degree murder last month in the death of Andrew Singler, an MSU student who was dating McCowan's sister.

McCowan stabbed Singler after the two exchanged heated text messages in February.

The jury didn't buy the defense's claim that it was in self-defense.
