No, a Tiger Did Not Escape from the Potter Park Zoo

Potter Park Zoo director Sherrie Graham has debunked reports that a tiger escaped and is roaming Eaton County. It started with a prankster calling several homes in the Charlotte area from a blocked number. The caller claimed a tiger got loose while being transported. Graham says no animals were moved outside the zoo today. This quote from Graham was posted on the zoo's facebook page:

“All of our tigers – and lions, monkeys and camels – are present and accounted for. We have no idea who might have made such calls, and have forwarded information we have received to law enforcement authorities for their action.”

Police tell wilx.com they got around two dozen calls, mostly from the Charlotte area. Stay with News 10 and wilx.com for updates on the investigation.
