New Traffic Lights In Dewitt Are Granted

The request for a stop light at a dangerous intersection in Dewitt is granted.
M-DOT approved a blinking yellow light for traffic on OLD U-S 27, and a blinking red one for traffic on Webb Rd.
Some residents don't agree with the projects, saying they are a "waste of money".
There have been several accidents there, including one last summer that seriously injured an elderly woman.
Residents say the whole point of asking for a state light is to get residents to stop on 27.

This is NOT going to solve the problem, which did not exist until people started crossing Old 27 at Webb to get to Meijer.
