Four Winds Casino's satellite location near the southwestern Michigan community of Hartford is expected to open August and feature 500 slot machines as well as table games, a bar and restaurant.
Officials announced Tuesday that the 52,000-square-foot casino located about halfway between Kalamazoo and the Four Winds casino in New Buffalo will employ about 300.
The Kalamazoo Gazette reports the new casino will be about one-sixth of the size of the New Buffalo casino but will be similar in appearance.
Four Winds is owned by the Pokagon (poh-KAY'-gun) Band of Potawatomi Indians. Chairman Matt Wesaw says the tribe's studies show the location is a good one for another casino.
