A coalition of community organizations is planning a daylong event at the state Capitol during which Muslims from across Michigan can interact with state lawmakers and other Lansing decision-makers.
Michigan Muslim Capitol Day is set for Wednesday.
Participants are to sit in on the state House and Senate sessions. A spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Snyder says he is expected to address the group.
Michigan Muslim Capitol Day is organized by a group of nonpartisan community organizations, including the Michigan Muslims for a Better Michigan committee, the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan and the Council of American Islamic Relations of Michigan, among others.
