The Michigan Works! Association will celebrate employment successes of Michigan workers at the 2011 Michigan Works! Association Alumni Celebration, held Tuesday, January 25, beginning at 12:45 p.m. at the Anderson House Office Building, Mackinac Room, in Lansing, Mich.
The Alumni Celebration is an annual event and opportunity for state leaders to recognize successful participants from the Michigan Works! System whose hard work and persistence, along with support from Michigan Works!, led to gainful employment.
Businesses who have partnered with the Michigan Works! System and made invaluable contributions and commitments will also be recognized. Honorees receive awards from their district legislators, and share individual stories of success and triumph.

Michigan Works! allowed me to earn a degree so that I could start a new career in a technical field. I know it may not work for all, but I am very thankful for their programs. If you're willing to put in the work, they can help change your life.

If jobs were being created for EVERYONE, then Michigan Works would be a success instead of a huge disappointment for most.

Oh dear God! And how much is this celebration costing us? Obviously, that budget can be cut if they can afford to spend our money on this silliness.

Michigan works is a joke, it only helps those with specials skills and high degrees from college. As for others it does nothing at all to help them. So this is just a waste of time for all.

Michigan works is one of those programs that Gov Snyder needs to revamp. It looks like the only purpose for the existence of Michigan works is to obtain government grants and push papers for the government. It might work for some, but it is another cog in our government that seems to be broken.
