LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan says it's already sold more than 1 million deer hunting licenses this year.
The Bay City Times reports that the number is for sales through Tuesday by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment. It includes licenses for both firearm and bow seasons.
Officials expect that number to rise ahead of firearm deer season, which opens Monday and runs through Nov. 30.
The state sold more than 1.6 million hunting licenses for firearm and bow seasons combined last year.
