Michigan Couple Sues Over Bedbugs

A Michigan couple has filed a lawsuit claiming their room at New York's Waldorf-Astoria hotel was infested with bedbugs.
Christine and David Drabicki charged in the lawsuit filed Thursday that they unwittingly brought the bedbugs home with them after they stayed at the Waldorf in May. They say they had to flee their home in Plymouth, Mich. for six weeks while it was fumigated.
A spokesman for Hilton Worldwide, which owns the Waldorf, said the couple's room tested negative for bedbugs.
This is the third time this year that guests have complained of bedbugs at the posh hotel. The Waldorf has said it found no evidence of bedbugs.
Alan Schnurman, a lawyer for the Michigan couple, said Christine Drabicki "has been ostracized in her community" because of the bugs.

Are these the same type of people who expect to get a free room if the newspaper is not delivered at exactly 6:30am or room service would be there in less than 20 minutes?

If you had ever lived through having them in your home, you would understand. It is not like head lice. It is literally horifying.

I agree with mom. It is known that bedbugs are all over Detroit. Bet these people flew out of Metro, and someone had Bedbugs in their lugage, and the bugs moved over to someone elses luggage. How do you think they became a nation wide epidemic?

"Ostracized" I don't believe that one bit. Good grief...get a grip people!! Can you imagine this couple if their child brought home headlice from school. It's not the end of the world, it happens. Next time check your room before you get to comfortable.

Why is this important? Who cares if she's been "ostracized" for bed bugs...please.
