Michigan State Lawmaker Accused of Sexual Harassment

A state lawmaker is being accused of harassment by a former aide who says he was forced into a sex act.

The former aide is a 29-year-old man who is a strip show promoter. He regularly drove Rep. Brian Banks to the Capitol from Harper Woods.

Banks, a Democrat, says he won't comment on the lawsuit.

The former aide's attorney, Darryl Segars, tells The Detroit News that Banks called his client repeatedly, demanding to know his whereabouts. The former aide says Banks took him to a Lansing hotel last month and forcing oral sex.

Banks was elected to the House in 2012 and represents parts of Detroit, Harper Woods, Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Shores. He has a criminal record of credit card fraud and writing bad checks.
