The campus of Michigan State University was quiet, Friday afternoon, but come Saturday, it is a guarantee that Spartan Stadium will be rocking.

A sellout crowd is expected for MSU's big night game against Notre Dame. While that means excitement will be at its peak, it also means more work for police.

"We realize that Notre Dame is going to be a big competitor and so we expect to be a little bit busier than we normally would," said Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor, Public Information Officer for MSU Police.

To ensure safety, the Michigan State University Police will be working with the East Lansing and Meridian Township Police Departments. They will also be working with the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.

"We put a lot of planning into this every year and so we think that we'll have just as good of a game and safety as we have all the previous games," said Sgt. McGlothian-Taylor.

For Michigan State Athletic Director, Mark Hollis and his staff, Friday is the last chance to setup.

"This is a put-together-everything day," said Hollis. "We have a lot more activity on campus and we're bringing in a lot of visitors to mid-Michigan for the weekend."

A lot of those visitors are already bringing their business into local restaurants.

"A lot of excitement," said Joe Bell, Owner of Peanut Barrel in East Lansing. "A lot of people in town and a lot of faces you normally only see on football weekends."
