DEARBORN, Mich. -- AAA Michigan says gasoline prices in the state have reached an all-time high.
The auto club announced Tuesday the average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline is $4.22. That surpasses the previous record of $4.21, which was set on July 17, 2008.
AAA says the statewide average price is up 7 cents from Monday and is $1.32 higher than a year ago.
Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Traverse City area, where it's $4.20 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $4.25.
Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 state gas stations daily.

It is simple. The gas companies are against union labor and favor small cheap cars so they can stay in busines slonger.

oil companies are saying if u do this or that,we will in return do this or that.Threats to this country by the oil people here?wow the president has to put up with these greedy ones or else? All must remember Mich has gas tax on each gal of gas sold. Not sure how much.but Rick said NO we will not take the gas tax off!don't expect many to come to Mich to vacation,& don't expect businesses to come to mich.Sale tax should be raised to 7 cents on the dollar ,but rich would have to pay out slightly more.and that would not be good.Get real RS is doing no better than jenn.wow can mich elect great people.

Maybe it's a conspiracy to keep us in the state. Not many of us can afford the gas to gtfo.

Maybe they should look at Gas Buddy. All of St.Johns is $4.29 per gal. also Lansing is $4.28 to $4.29.As soon as tne News Media says that gas will go, the Speedways in St.johns will change there in minutes. To me this IS GAS GOUGING. They should all get a hefty fine or quit saying gas will go up. I think the Govenor should get involved ans soon or his economy will be going down the drain ans very soon.
