LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- The website for Michigan's new health insurance market is experiencing glitches on launch day.
Some visitors to www.healthcare.gov are being asked to wait to be sent to the login page because "a lot" of people are visiting the site. Others trying to create an account are being told one cannot be created because the "system is unavailable."
Enrollment on the exchange is open for six months. President Barack Obama has acknowledged there will be glitches in getting exchanges up and running in all the states under the federal health care law, and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has expressed concern about problems with launching a massive information technology project.
The federal government is running the marketplace after the Republican-led Legislature rejected Snyder's request that Michigan operate it.
