EATON COUNTY - Several meth houses are raided in law enforcement sweep across Eaton County this week. On Tuesday deputies from the Eaton County Sheriff's Office along with officers from Eaton Rapids, Grand Ledge, and Michigan State Police conducted the widespreadr sweep.
Three teams of officers, acting on tips and information from intelligence gathering, searched several homes. Officers discovered meth manufacturing components at a residence in the 200 block of Edwards Street in Grand Ledge. A 33-year-old resident of the home is expected to be charged.
Officers also discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation and methamphetamine components in the 2700 block of W. Butterfield near Narrow Lake. William Powell, age 38, resident of Springport, was arrested and charged with manufacture of methamphetamine.
Officers located a military artillery round at a residence in the 500 block of W. Grand Ledge Hwy. between Grand Ledge and Mulliken. The State Police Bomb Squad detonated the round without incident.
