Man Faces More Charges Following Raid

A Jackson County man is facing several more charges after a November raid on his home on Munith Road in Leoni Township.

Ricky Lee Wheeldon is now charged with running a criminal enterprise, specifically receiving & concealing a stolen firearm, felony in possession of a firearm, felony firearm second offense, receiving & concealing a stolen motor vehicle, receiving & concealing property over $20,000, possession of cocaine 50 to 449 grams, possession with intent to deliver marijuana 5 to 45 kilos, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting & obstructing an officer.

Sheriff's deputies raided Wheeldon's property in early November-- calling it the crime of the year. Wheeldon has a long criminal record, arrested for several assaults and even served time in prison for assault with attempt to murder.

All of the stolen items were from various locations around Jackson and Ingham Counties. The 449 stolen items include motorcycles, guns, prescription pills and other drugs. Both agencies have been working to return the items to the rightful owners.

Wheeldon remains behind bars on $500,000 bond.
