GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A Davison man has died and another from the mid-Michigan city was injured after they fell from a moving party bus on Interstate 75 near the Genesee County and Oakland County line.
The Detroit Free Press and WJRT-TV say 26-year-old Sean Chapin died from injuries suffered after he and 36-year-old Jason Rodgers fell from the vehicle about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Michigan State police say the men may have accidentally opened the vehicle's side door, causing them to fall and strike a guardrail.
The Free Press, The Flint Journal and WJRT say the bus owned by Holly-based Country Club Limousine was carrying 23 people who were celebrating a birthday. A message seeking comment was left Tuesday by The Associated Press.
Chapin died at a hospital. Rodgers was to be released Monday.
