One man has died after apparently being strangled this morning by a man on leave from the Army, according to state police.
Police arrived at a home on 2985 Gady Road in Raisin Township, near Adrian, at 8:45 a.m. after a report of an assault.
Inside they found someone giving CPR to a man on the floor.
He was unresponsive, and declared dead at the hospital.
Police say he had marks on his neck indicating that he had been strangled.
A second victim had been stabbed in the shoulder; he has been treated and released from the hospital.
State Police say he was attacked when he tried to give first aid to the first victim.
Investigators have not identified the man who died, but a family friend says he is Joel Krutsch, 20, from Adrian.
The suspect is a 31-year-old man on leave from the Army to visit his estranged wife.
He is currently in the Lenawee County Jail. A warrant request will be submitted to the county prosecutor's office on Sunday.
