LANSING - A man is found shot in an apartment complex parking lot late Wednesday. Police were called to the Camelot Hills apartments on Sadie court on the city's north side for a possible shooting just before midnight. When they arrived they found a man sitting in his car with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers learned the victim was a 21-year-old from Detroit. He told police he was approached by a man wearing all black with a mask over his face. The victim said the man pointed a handgun at him and demanded he get out of the car. The man says as he moved to exit the car, he was shot. The gunman then ran through the parking lot to the east.

The gunshot victim was taken to the hospital, with the non-life threatening wound.

A statement to the media says that "Officers on scene interviewed a possible witness and determined the shooting victim may have not been forthcoming with information."

Police continue their investigation to determine what happened before the shooting. They say if a shooting suspect is determined, full description will be made public. Lansing Police encourage anyone with information about this shooting to call Detective Lee McCallister at 517-483-4611
