ADRIAN, Mich. (AP) -- A man charged in the slaying of a 63-year-old Hillsdale County woman has waived a key hearing in the case.
Steven Storm waived his preliminary examination on Friday in Lenawee County District Court. The case now is bound over to Lenawee County Circuit Court, where Storm is to appear on Jan. 23.
The 42-year-old Storm is charged with open murder in the death of Sandra Johnson, whose body was found Nov. 17 at a boat launch on Crispell Lake in Jackson County.
Authorities say Storm killed Johnson at her Woodstock Township home.
The Associated Press left a message Friday afternoon seeking comment from Storm's lawyer, John Glaser (GLAY'-zhur).
