MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (AP) -- A ferryboat feud has led organizers of an annual sailboat race from Port Huron to Mackinac Island to consider moving the race off the island.
Bruce Burton of the Bayview Yacht Club said in a statement Tuesday organizers are worried that a proposed merger between Arnold Transit Co. and Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry would jeopardize the race.
The Petoskey News-Review and The Detroit News say the deal could force longtime race sponsor Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry out of business.

Mayor Margaret Doud said proposals from all three companies are being considered.
Arnold Transit Co. said the suit is unjustified and premature
