Two Ingham County students are getting extra money for college for sharing their 9/11 experiences.

Cameron Stewart and Paige Kelly of Williamston High School took first and second place, respectively, in a scholarship essay contest put on by the Michigan Remembers 9/11 Fund.

Stewart, a senior, won the first place scholarship of $500 for his essay "Through the Eyes of a Child."

Kelly, a junior, was awarded the second place scholarship for her essay "An Attack Here and a War There."

The contest encouraged students to express how the terrorist attacks affected them, their families, their communities or the nation as a whole.
