GM's Lansing Regional Stamping plant will also be affected by layoffs due to a Wednesday fire at an auto parts plant in Howell, said GM Spokeswoman Erin Davis.

Layoffs will be in effect for the plant's second and third shifts on Monday, March 7, she said.

The fire occurred at the Magna Atreum plant in Howell, which makes things like dashboards, consoles, and door panels.

As for this fire's long term effect, Davis said GM will be tackling the situation "day to day."

Davis said GM is still in the planning process and is trying to evaluate how quickly production can get back on track.

We'll have more on this story tonight on News10 at 6.

The 4k is before taxes and everybody else takes their share. Yes is sounds good but it will not be the full amount that we bring home. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks.

When anything goes wrong it's like a Domino effect, with the "Right In Time" policy not keeping materials on hand. Well at least they will be getting $4K profit sharing bonus that they better put aside for Rainy Days like this. These people are going to be laid off but their bills keekp coming.
