An 11-year-old boy was injured on Monday while playing with fire.
Capt. Mike Yankowski says he was one of several kids who were goofing around with flammable items on the 3500 block of Coach Light Commons at 5:45 p.m.
Many details are still under investigation; however, the boy was apparently injured while playing in a fire pit in the woods.
He and several other children were playing with matches or lighters when someone apparently threw something into the fire pit, and it exploded.
The boy has 2nd-degree burns, and was taken to the UM Burn Center where he is stable condition.
