Starting Wednesday, May 15, there will be lane and ramp closures along I-496 in Lansing for pavement patching and approach work.
The closures are expected to be in place until Wednesday, May 22.
The following will be closed:
- Pine St over I-496
Detour: Southbound Pine Street traffic detoured using St. Joe and MLK Jr Blvd
- Walnut St over I-496
Detour: Southbound Walnut St traffic detoured using St. Joe, MLK Jr. Blvd. and Malcolm X Blvd. Northbound Walnut St. traffic detoured using Malcolm X Blvd., Grand Ave., and St. Joe.
- Washington Ave over I-496
Detour: Southbound Washington Ave traffic detoured using St. Joe, MLK Jr Blvd., and Malcolm X Blvd. Northbound Washington Ave. traffic detoured using Malcolm X Blvd., Grand Ave. and St. Joe.
In addition, there will be a single lane closure on Capital Ave. over I-496.
Also starting Wednesday, May 15, there will be nightly ramp closures at the ramp from westbound I-496 to Lansing Rd. The ramp will be closed each night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. until Friday, May 24.
