JACKSON -- Police in Jackson nab a suspect they say mugged two people Saturday morning.

Thirty-eight-year-old Marlon Stephens is accused of robbing a woman who was walking down Wesley Street in Jackson.

Police say he jumped out of a car just before 5 a.m. and demanded money from the victim.

Officers say he took an unknown amount of cash from her then ran into a nearby apartment complex, where he robbed a second victim in the hallway, according to police.

Police say they were able to arrest him in his car after a short chase.

Stephens is on parole for a previous offense.

He is currently being lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
