JACKSON - A jury has found a Jackson man guilty in the death of a 2-year-old child. Ronald Woodard, 24, was found guilty Wednesday of manslaughter and first degree child abuse in the death of Cameron Russell. Russell was the son of Woodard's former girlfriend. The boy died as a result of a head injury he received at the hands of Woodard on January 19, 2010. Woodard contended that the incident was an accident. Woodard's defense claimed that a dog tripped him as he was carrying the toddler, and the child struck his head on a door jam.
Woodard had three prior felony convictions, and was on probation when he committed the crime, so he is facing up to life in prison.

That is a good place for him after what he did. It will give him lots of time to think about what he did and how he will never be able to do this ever again.
