On the legal fight over Jackson’s storm water fee, city councilman Derek Dobies tells us the city has turned down an offer to settle a lawsuit filed over it. The state court of appeals ruled the fee unconstitutional earlier this month. Now some taxpayers are suing to get their money back.
The plaintiffs offered to drop the suit if one year's worth of fees were refunded. Councilman Dobies says the city would be better off if there was one settlement that covered everyone who paid the fee. We'll let you know what happens with the lawsuit.
