A Jackson County man serving a sentence for larceny and other charges could have more time tacked on.
The sheriff says 20-year-old Domonick Mata was doing janitorial work at the Columbia Township offices Tuesday morning when he swiped keys from an employee's desk and took off in their vehicle.
Cops tracked him down a couple hours later at his girlfriend's house in Leoni Township.
He's expected to face new charges of escape and vehicle theft. He was due to be released from jail on Christmas Eve. Mata was serving a sentence for repeated drivers license infractions, a larceny charge and probation violation.
