A historic piece of the Irish Hills community isn't going anywhere... for now.
According to the Irish Hills Historical Society's Facebook page, an extension has been granted to fix the Irish Hills Twin Towers. The Cambridge Township Board gave them another 60 days to come up with a plan to fix the deteriorating structure, which used to be a popular tourist attraction.
When we first reported the story in May, the Irish Hills Historical Society estimated the restoration costs at anywhere between $200,000 and $300,000. Less than $2,000 has been raised since then.
