Two vehicle fires shut down westbound traffic on Interstate-96 near Williamston and Zimmer roads this morning.
Ingham county Sheriff Deputies say a driver was going too fast on the icy roads, hitting a semi truck, causing it to spin out.
The drivers were able to escape, and no serious injuries are reported.
Deputies shut down the highway for a little while, so crews could clean up the accident.

Yep, quite a few and why you ask. Yes, drivers are stupid and remain that way party because there is NO traffic enforcement. I will bet that the driver in this collision did not receive a citation. I-96 is simply a unenforced autobahn!! So someone is killed, its only a car accident. Get over it! Tis seems to be a prevailing attitude, even by the media.

It seems like there have been quite a few accidents on 96 between Okemos and Webbberville exits over the years. Not sure why, but perhaps it's worth looking into.
