Interim Lansing Police Chief to be Named Thursday

LANSING - Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero will name an interim police chief for the city Thursday morning. The announcement will be made at Sexton High School. The mayor will be joined by retiring police chief Teresa Szymanski, as well as Lansing School District Superintendent Yyvonne Caamal Canul and members of the Lansing Board of Police Commissioners. Chief Szymanski announced April 10th that she was retiring after two years as chief and nearly 26 years of service on the Lansing Police force.
