The Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter has been pounded the last couple of days with boxes full of cats being dropped off.
The cat population is now out of control there with at least 135 in the building that's only meant to fit about 100.
The shelter fears they'll have to euthanize cats in order to make more space, a move they've never had to make.
Animal Control is asking people to try to hang on to their cats for several more weeks until they can bring these numbers down. They're also encouraging people to consider fostering some of the cats they have to offer.
News 10's Shannon Kantner will have all the details and how you can help tonight on WILX at 6:00.
