GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- Federal agents arrested 77 people from Mexico and other counties during immigration raids across southwest Lower Michigan.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Detroit field office Director Rebecca Adducci says agents in the Grand Rapids area targeted illegal residents, immigration fugitives and immigration violators during a four-day operation ending late Thursday.

Alducci says agents arrested 41 people from Mexico, 27 from Guatemala, seven from Honduras, and one each from China and Laos.

The Grand Rapids Press says two large-scale fake document operations have been busted in that city over the past 18 months.

Arrests occurred in Kent, Ottawa, Kalamazoo, Mason, Berrien, Calhoun and St. Joseph counties.

Of those arrested, 22 had prior convictions, six had previously been deported and 35 were immigration fugitives who failed to comply with deportation orders.

being related to someone who had their SS # stolen and used for several years by a ilegal. The more they catch the better. The only reason they caught this jerk was that my relative filed for SS and found out there was someone else using her #. INS went and talked to the other person and bingo.

Come on guys, looks like 77-100 great below minimum wage jobs with no benefits just opened up. To get one of these great jobs just follow the link below. The UFW has launched the national “Take Our Jobs” campaign that invites U.S. citizens and legal residents to replace tens of thousands of immigrant field laborers, most of whom are undocumented.

And this is the exact reason why MICHIGAN must get on board and do what AZ has done. We cant tolerate this kind of blatant disregard for our state or our country. And If Washington's barack isnt going to step up enforcing the laws, Michigan has to do it on it's own! No telling who else is here, perhaps Osama bin laden is living in dearborn..blending in . maybe that's why they cant find him in Pakistan.
