Honda Motor Co. is warning U.S. dealers that it will run short of several popular models this summer due to parts shortages from the earthquake in Japan.
Honda tells dealers that production of a new version of the popular Civic compact will be significantly cut, leading to shortages through the summer.
The company also says the fall launch of a redesigned CR-V small SUV will be delayed by at least a month in the fall. Honda says it will continue to build the 2011 version.
Both the Civic and CR-V are made in North America, where Honda has been forced to cut production due to parts shortages.
The company also says Japan-built models such as the Fit subcompact will be affected, as will several Acura models.
