A three-time war veteran will have more than a new hip when he comes home from rehab.

Nearly 100 volunteers from Home Depot, the United Way, and other organizations spent the day transforming the home of a veteran from Owosso.

They put in new flooring, windows, carpet, landscaping, a wheelchair ramp and fresh paint.

It's part of the Home Depot Foundation's initiative to give back.

"Home Depot tries really hard to take care of their communities," says Judy Custer, Home Depot's district communications director.

Mr. Steffof served in World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam.

Home Depot applied for grants to help cover the cost of materials.
