LANSING - Police confirm Wednesday that Lavoris Watkins did die as a result of a gunshot wound. Watkins' exact cause of death had not previously been reported by police. The 26-year-old Watkins was found shot to death December 22 inside a residence in the 1000 block of Kelsey Avenue in Lansing. A witness called police after reported the front door had been left open for some time. Lansing police detectives are investigating the death as a murder.
