LANSING - A handy tip and quick action by Lansing police officers leads to the discovery of marijuana and a gun. At about 11:30 Wednesday night, undercover officers received a tip about criminal activity involving people in a car at Shiawassee St. and Pennsylvania Ave. Patrol officers eventually pulled the car over on Eighth Street. Located inside was about $1,000 worth of marijuana and a loaded handgun, as well as a large amount of cash. Two, 21-year-old Lansing men were arrested, and will be charged with various felonies.

In an unrelated incident, police also discover a gun in car at Ingham Park Wednesday night. Officers were checking on people who were in the park after dark. Inside a car parked near the group of people was a 15-year-old boy hiding in the backseat. Police say the teen had a sawed-off shotgun hidden inside a backpack. The teen was arrested.

Maybe, with a little luck, the handgun was the one I had stolen and I can get it back!
