HICKORY CORNERS, Mich. (AP) -- A southwestern Michigan museum that's devoted to historic automobiles is expanding its offerings.
The groundbreaking for the Lincoln Motor Car Museum is set for Saturday on the campus of the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners. The automotive history building complex is near Kalamazoo and about 115 miles west of Detroit.
The new museum will be fashioned after a historic Lincoln dealership in Detroit.
As with other museums on the campus, the Lincoln building will be owned and operated by automotive clubs. It's expected to open in the summer of 2014.
The Gilmore campus also is home to the Model A Ford Museum, which held its grand opening ceremony in May.
Ford purchased the Lincoln Motor Co. in 1922.
