The Michigan National Guard is in line for some new facilities in the state.
Maj. Gen. Thomas Cutler, U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, and U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer attended a pre-construction ceremonies today in western Michigan.
The first event began late morning at Fort Custer Army National Guard Base. There, plans are to be announced for an Organizational Maintenance Shop facility.
Following that, at the Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, a groundbreaking took place for an Air Operations Group facility.
The Organizational Maintenance Shop at Fort Custer will feature a 30,000 square-foot facility to maintain and repair more than 1,500 military vehicles and systems located in southwest Michigan.
