Granholm Vetoes Bill For Sunday Morning Alcohol Sales

Governor Granholm has just vetoed the bill that would allow stores to sell alcohol before noon on Sunday mornings.
The governor says the bill has several provisions that need to be changed.
One example... She says it would create an "unlevel" playing field that allows restaurants to offer alcohol at "off-premise" locations.
Governor Granholm says that would take away business from stores that sell alcohol.

    Really?? Because there are a lot of bars selling booze to patrons on Sunday mornings. Just pass the bill Lame Duck, this will undoubtedly boost sales with a tax paid day for the state as a result.
