Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and his wife, Sue, are heading to their first White House dinner.
The nation's governors and their spouses have been invited to the White House for a black-tie evening Sunday with President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.
The event is part of the National Governors Association winter meeting that Snyder is attending in Washington, D.C. The conference runs from Saturday through Monday.
On Monday, governors will return to the White House for meetings with the president and his Cabinet. The conference will conclude with a speech on higher education by Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
