Governor Snyder Embraces Immigration To Boost State

Gov. Rick Snyder says he embraces immigration as a way to repopulate Michigan as part of a larger plan to spur economic development.
The Republican governor told The Detroit News in an interview published Tuesday the state should be "encouraging immigration of people with advanced degrees in particular." Snyder earlier has made the case for attracting such legal immigrants.
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg told NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday that Detroit should immigrants as a way to overcome the city's severe population loss.
Detroit has seen its population fall from 1.8 million in the 1950 U.S. Census to 714,000 in 2010. Its population dropped 26 percent in the last decade. And census figures show Michigan was the only state in the nation to lose population over the past decade.

So we invite immigrants to MI, where are the jobs for them? Who is going to feed, put clothing on their backs and a roof over their heads? Welfare? Thats just what we need. Bring Business to MI and create jobs, and people will flock back to MI.

He is tossing up any idea to improve michigan and yet he is critized. He ran for governor because he love this state. At least we know that he is willing to stay here after he is done in office.

I agree that Jenny drove Michigan into the ground, but to bring immigrants to Michigan is not the answer. There are no jobs here and they will be on public assistance. Come on Snyder, take care of Michiganders and leave immigrants where they are. Once all Michigander are back to work then fine bring them in but get us jobs first.

Michigan lost population due to Jenny G! She only ran this state into the ground. Now we all have to pay the price for her HORRIBLE leadership, if that is what you want to call it!
